Mai-Ling is a specialist family law practitioner with particular expertise in complex care proceedings which involve allegations of non accidental injury, sexual abuse and emotional abuse.
She represents both parents and local authorities. She has considerable experience of representing parents who have mental health problems and/or learning difficulties. Mai-Ling worked in community mental health before being called to the Bar.
Mai-Ling undertakes complex private law proceedings involving intractable contact disputes and removal from the jurisdiction.
Mai-Ling also has extensive experience of judicial review proceedings relating to children and disabled adults.
Mai-Ling regularly advises and provides training for local authorities. She has provided training for solicitors, social services, teachers and the voluntary sector.
She is a trustee for Action for Advocacy, a national charity providing training and support to the advocacy sector.
